ANDOVER STUDENTS TAKE THE STONEHAM STAGE
Four Andover students and one North Andover student will be taking the stage at Stoneham Theatre during the theatre’s young company Winter Festival. Stoneham Theatre’s young company offers year-round theatrical training and performing opportunities for children ages 7 – 18. This year’s Winter Festival will showcase three musicals adapted from classic stories: A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD, HONK! (Based on THE UGLY DUCKLING), and JANE EYRE: the musical.
N. Andover resident Jessica Carroll and Andover resident Emily Wivell will appear in JANE EYRE: the musical. Based on the novel by Charlotte Brontë, JANE EYRE: the musical follows the story of an ill-treated orphan girl as she grows into womanhood. Talkin’ Broadway called JANE EYRE: the musical “A successful dramatic interpretation of the ever-popular novel.”
Andover residents Caroline Hall, Joseph Hall, and Caela Flanagan can be seen in A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD. Based on the Frog and Toad stories written and illustrated by Arnold Lobel, A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD follows the musical journey of two friends, a worrywart toad and a perky frog. A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD follows these two amphibians and their woodland friends through a year’s worth of adventures.
Stoneham Theatre’s young company Winter Festival runs from January 16, 2013 through January 27, 2013. Tickets for adults are $15. Student tickets are $10. Student matinees for HONK! and A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD are sold out, however, there are tickets available for the JANE EYRE student matinees. JANE EYRE: the musical has two student matinees, Friday, January 18th at 10am and Thursday, January 24th at 10am.
