Austin Preparatory School junior Corey Bedrosian of Andover has received an honorable mention in the 2013 Boston Globe Scholastic Art and Writing Awards competition.

His original drawing, titled “Wishbone Man,” was submitted for consideration by Austin Prep art teacher Massoudeh Edmund.

Bedrosian’s uncle, Wesley Bedrosian (now a professional illustrator) received Gold Key recognition from the Boston Globe for this same competition in 1984. Corey Bedrosian said his uncle has been a wonderful mentor, helping him to develop his style.
