Community Theatre Group Announces Two Upcoming Shows
ACT Andover is having a busy fall, but then again, they are always busy! With their fall family musical, “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” playing at the J. Everett Collins Center from October 26-28th, they are in full swing. But for this non-profit theater company, one project is never enough.
The following weekend, November 2, 2012, they are hosting a wine tasting, cabaret and auction at the Elks Lodge in Lawrence, MA. The evening will include an Italian wine tasting hosted by The Vineyard of North Andover, foods from fantastic local vendors, including Two Chefs Are Better Than One Catering, Cookie Central, Scovotti’s Cooking & Confections, and The Chocolate Truffle. If wine’s not your flavor, feat not! Sam Adams has generously donated beer for sampling as well!
As if fine wine, seasonal beer and delicious cuisine was not enough, ACT will also have cabaret performance throughout the evening from some of its ACT adult and ACT Jr. members. While sipping a special wine or trying the latest larger, guests will have the opportunity to bid on amazing items that have been donated by local businesses, companies and community members. The auction has everything from a 7-day hotel stay in the Caribbean to sports tickets and memorabilia, to salon services and acting classes with ACT’s artistic director, Charles Gracy. “This event is special for so many reasons,” says ACT Andovermember and former Andover resident, Julie Day. “It’s an evening that anyone can enjoy, even someone who doesn’t normally go to the theater. What makes it even more amazing it that it will bring together different generations of performers and community members, all while supporting the arts and a local non-profit.”
