Andover Business Group Hopes to Revamp Local Economy
Many businesses in Andover have been doing poorly this winter and the business association in town is hoping to bring new life back to the local economy.
More than 20 members of the Andover business community gathered at Palmer’s Restaurant last Thursday to talk about strengthening the local economy in town.
Members talked about many different ways to bring in more customers to downtown Andover and businesses throughout town. With such a rough winter, many local shops have taken large hits in sales because of the five weeks of snowfall earlier in the winter.
Business owners talked about reaching out to customer bases in Andover that may be overlooked and planning “shop local” events for every month, each of which would be sponsored by the Andover Business Center Association. The group even mentioned becoming an official “Chamber of Commerce.”
Association officers Kathleen Bates and Elaine LeBlanc-Baker spoke to the group seated in on the second floor of Palmer’s Restaurant as well as others.
