Andover Buzzing About Sports Clips Hair Salon
Sports Clips, a sports-themed hair salon, opened in Andover recently and staff says that they have already gained some popularity with the youth in town.
The new sports-themed hair salon in Shawsheen Plaza, Sports Clips, opened in Andover just last month and the unique atmosphere of the shop is already sending a buzz though the hallways and classrooms of Andover schools.
Since cutting their first head of hair on Friday, Jan. 25, Sports Clips manager Amy Marcotte said that the response in Andover has been terrific.
"It's been amazing," said Marcotte. "The people are great."
The Andover Sports Clips, which is the first of the franchise to open in the state, is designed to give the customer a new experience when they go to get their hair cut.
From the stadium seats in the waiting area to the flat screen TVs showing sports around the clock, the shop fills the eye as you walk through the front door.
While Sports Clips caters to men and boys, they obviously accept all clientele. However, Marcotte said that it is a "chemical free" environment in regards to hair products used at the salon.
No appointments are necessary at this hair salon, said Marcotte , so busy parents can take care of the kids' hair cuts on their own time.
Some other amenities at Sports Clips include massage chairs, free hair washing, and, of course, flat screen TVs tuned to Sports Center and the like.
Sports Clips is one of several businesses to open recently in Shawsheen Plaza, filling a vacant spot that had been one of many only a year earlier.
Sports Clips is located at 209 North Main St. Contact them at 978-409-1030 or visit them online at haircutmenandoverma.com.
