Andover Snow Parking Ban No Longer in Effect
Street-side parking is now allowed in Andover.
Andover Police have lifted the winter parking ban following the two days when street-side parking was prohibited. Saturday night's storm brought roughly 6 inches of snow accumulation to the Andover area, according to a National Weather Service spotter in Haverhill.
Police lifted the winter parking ban yesterday after first putting the ban in effect around 3 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. All street-side parking in Andover is now allowed.
The town and Police Department first proposed this current ban, which states street-side parking is prohibited only during "snow emergencies," in late 2010. Before this all street side parking was prohibited for the entirety of the winter months.
Police proposed this new ban to allow residents to utilize the non-snowy days in the winter to park on the street sides.
