Aphrodite's Salon and Spa, 354 Main Street, is a place to go for relaxation, rejuvenation and pampering, according to owner Lana Silva-Grelle.

Whether her customers are having a haircut, facial, waxing, massage, or hair extensions, her goal is for them "to emerge feeling radiant, refreshed and renewed."

Silva-Grelle opened the salon last November 11. Although she has been in the business for 29 years, frequently as a guest international and national stylist, this is her first time owning a salon.

"The timing was right." said Silva-Grelle. She explained she used to travel 42 weeks a year. But now that her son is older, she wanted something closer to home.  

"I saw the location, and I decided that was it," she said. The salon is named for the goddess of love and beauty. "Because I want my clients to feel beautiful on the inside, as well as the outside when they leave."

Distinguishing herself from other salons, Silva-Grelle said she is wholly full- service and offers special chemical services such as glycolic facials and peels. She also specializes in bridal parties.

"We also make our own Aphrodite sugar scrub for our manicures and pedicures, and an Aphrodite perfume is in the making," she explained.

The interior of the salon was designed with plenty of room so both men and women can be comfortable and relax.

"We are upscale, chic and fashion forward" she said. Her fiance Sean O'Clare of Hundred Construction built out the space in only seven weeks, she explained.

Her certified stylists, estheticians, and nail technicians take classes to learn the latest techniques and are available for consultations. 

"It is a relaxed atmosphere where people come in and don't want to leave," she said.

Aphrodite's Salon and Spa is currently offering two specials; 3 deep pore (1 hour) facials for $160 and 3 Aphrodite's (1 hour, 15 min.) facials for $216. Check out the website and facebook pages for more information.
