Chic Consignment Closet Is Moving and Expanding
When Andover's trendy consignment expands for the third time, it will triple its space and selection of merchandise and services.
Lisa Nardone, owner, said her trendy high-end consignment store, located next door at 46 Main Street, has outgrown its space after three years.
Nardone actually started her consignment business, three and a half ago in a closet at Gigi's, a high-end teen store on Essex Street which she owned. Seeing a trend toward consignment, she expanded it to the present location. This will be her third expansion.
Nardone, who has over 30 years in retail, explained that the move - an example of growth - is good for the community.
"The consignment world is exploding, and we have made a niche for ourselves. I have a great team and our customer service is what built the store," she explained. Nardone said she was able to add three new employees for the new location.
In making the move, Nardone said she wanted to keep it cozy and fun. She contemplated how it would work in the space of 3,000 square feet, three times the size of what she has now.
The result, she said, will be exciting and bring innovative changes; adding many more areas of consignment, mens, kids, teens, bridal and one-of-a kind pieces of furniture.
"The most exciting addition is our services that sister so well with with consignment, closet cleaning, styling and home design. All on a budget," she explained.
While cleaning and organizing closets comes naturally to Nardone, many people have trouble with what to keep and what to throw out.
Describing herself as tremendously passionate about what she does, Nardone wants to offer services that can help people simplify their lives and are "reasonable and affordable."
Although the new store is scheduled to open the first week of April, she said they will delay the grand opening to the middle of the month.
Right now, Nardone is looking for new consignments of men's and children's clothing and accent furniture pieces, as well as women's clothing and designer bags.
"I am always looking for one-of-a-kind pieces," she explained.
The store hours are Tues-Fri, 10am-5:30pm; Sat, 10am-5pm; Sunday closed. Consignment hours are Monday 10am-2pm. The phone number is 978-474-1755 or check out the website.
Boutique Blowout and a Preview of the New Space
Next week, Andover stores will be holding a Boutique Blowout on Friday and Saturday March 9, and 10th. Nardone will be joined in her new space by Lyn Evans Potpourri Designs, Izzy's Emporium, and a "beautiful" children's store from Wellesley, Kenzie Kids and Kgirl. "We will Pop Up in the empty space from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with amazing deals for both women and children."
Although the renovations of Chic Consignment Closet won't be completed, shoppers will get a preview of the new space.
