Doctor in Child Porn Case Waives Right to Bail
Andover pediatrician will stay in jail for the duration of the investigation into his purchases of child pornography in the past few years.
Dr. Richard Keller, an Andover pediatrician who allegedly purchased over 50 DVDs of young boys in sexual situations, waived his right for bail during a detention hearing Friday, according to an article on WashingtonPost.com.
During a detention hearing in Boston federal court on Friday, Keller decided not to give up his right to bail himself out for the duration of the investigation and trial.
On Wednesday, Keller agreed not to practice medicine while authorities investigate the claims that he had DVDs of child pornography delivered both to his Cyr Circle home and Phillips Academy, where he worked at the medical director for 19 years.
Both of Keller's current employers, Boston Children's Hospital and Harvard Medical School, put him on leave after his arrest.
