It’s Friday and we’ve got some ideas to help you plan a fun weekend but, at the same time, stay local. From free music to book signings, we are showcasing some enriching experiences this weekend for Andover Patch readers.

 

1 .TABASCO FIASCO BAND

When and Where: 9 p.m., Friday, June 24, Palmer’s Restaurant, 18 Elm St.

Why Go: Audiences are sure not be disappointed with the traveled sounds of the Tabasco Fiasco Band at Palmer’s Restaurant Saturday night.

2. SCHOOL’S OUT SPECTACULAR

Where/When: Friday, June 24, 6 p.m. Andover SHED, 65 Phillips Street

Why Go: Celebrate the fact that school is out for the summer and join the staff over at Andover SHED to enjoy some food and games all night. The Black Diamonds, a youth rock band, will be playing and kids will also have the opportunity to sing karaoke. Includes a pizza and ice cream dinner.

3. FREE ZUMBA CLASS

Where/When: Sunday, June 26, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., 197 Main Street, North Reading.

Why Go: Enjoy a fun and exciting dance-fitness class with Zumba at the Health Time Fitness in North Reading.

4. STOP AND SHOP OPENING

Where/When: Saturday, June 24 to Sunday, June 26, Shawsheen Plaza, 209 North Main Street, Andover

Why Go: Stop & Shop is celebrating the grand opening of their new Andover store with a weekend full of activities. With the purchase of Nature’s Promise and Stop & Shop brand products, consumers can have the chance to win Red Sox tickets, Fenway Park tour passes, and Stop & Shop gift cards throughout the Grand Opening Weekend. There will also be a book signing with famous Boston baker Joanne Chang, who recently published the book: “Flour: Spectacular Recipes from Boston’s Flour Bakery + Café.” on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

5. THE GROOVE CATS

When and Where: 9 p.m., Saturday, June 26, Palmer’s Restaurant, 18 Elm St.

Why Go: Check out local band the Groove Cats at Palmer’s Restaurant Saturday night.
