Lacrosse Playoffs Underway This Week
The girls are in action Tuesday while the boys start Wednesday.
Both of Andover’s lacrosse teams are in action this week in the MIAA Division 1 playoffs. The girls team will play at home on Tuesday evening and the boys play Wednesday evening also at home.
The girls team is the top ranked team in the Division 1 North playoffs. After an incredible 19-1 season, the playoffs have finally arrived for the Warriors. On Tuesday at 6:00 p.m., Andover hosts 16th ranked Haverhill High School in their first step of a state title run.
Haverhill comes into the game with a 6-10 record. The winner of Tuesday’s game will take on the winner of Wednesday’s Masconomet vs. Acton-Boxboro game.
The boys team snuck into the playoffs as the number 15 seed. On Wednesday evening at 6:00 p.m., the boys host 18th ranked Bridgewater-Raynham. Bridgewater comes into the game with a 14-4 season record.
Andover finished the season at an 11-7 clip. The winner of Wednesday’s preliminary playoff game will take on second ranked Billerica on Saturday afternoon.
