Patch Readers Love Rudolph, George Bailey and O Holy Night

But don’t play Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer in their presence.

We’ve had some fun over the past four weeks asking you about your favorite Christmas songs, movies and specials –- and which song you didn’t want to hear again.

Here’s a roundup of the results.

Favorite Christmas Song

Our most popular Christmas poll over the past month (309 votes) was – What’s Your Favorite Christmas Song? Nearly one-quarter of respondents (23%) went with “O Holy Night.” Eleven percent said “The Christmas Song” and 10 percent chose “Little Drummer Boy.”

Other choices in the comment section given by readers were “Where Are You Christmas?,” “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch,” “Silver Bells,” “Mary’s Boy-Child” and “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.”

Tiresome Christmas Song

"Which Christmas Song Are You Most Tired of" was our final poll of the Christmas season. The song most often selected was “Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer,” which garnered 20% of the vote. That novelty song edged out “Santa Baby” (16%), “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” (10%) and “Feliz Navidad” (10%).

Other selections for not wanting to hear again this holiday season were “All I Want for Christmas is You,” “Nuttin’ for Christmas,” “Happy Christmas (War is Over),” “Christmas Shoes,” and “Dominick the Donkey.”

Favorite Christmas Movie

This one was a landslide. “It’s a Wonderful Life” topped the choices with 30%. “Christmas Vacation” (13%) and “A Christmas Story (12%) finished off the top three.

Favorite Christmas Special

Patch readers love the story about a red-nosed reindeer and his misfit friends. “Rudolph the Red-Noses Reindeer” topped the results with 31% of the votes. “A Charlie Brown Christmas” was second with 19%, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” had 17% and “The Year Without Christmas,” which many people know as the special with the Heat Miser, came in fourth with 14% of the votes.

Nothing else cracked more than 5%.

Thank you for taking part in our polls. We wish everyone a Merry Christmas and great holiday season!
