Police Assist with Crowd Causing Disturbance at Denny's

The following are excerpts from the Andover Police log. The log is open to the public.
Saturday, Oct. 13
At 1:03 a.m. a caller reported loud music on North Main Street. An officer spoke to the occupants and they will be turning down the music.
At 1:51 a.m. Andover Police assisted State Police and Lawrence Police with a disturbance at Denny's on Route 114. An officer reported that about 50 people were causing a disturbance at Denny's and that a red sedan tried to run down a state trooper. The trooper pursued the vehicle further north into Lawrence but eventually called the chase off. Lawrence Police arrived and took over the scene at Denny's.
At 10:49 a.m. a caller reported that her car was broken into last night on Yardley Road.
At 11:07 a.m. police arrested Daniel E. Cawley, of 25 Mount Joy Drive, Tewksbury, on River Road. Cawley was charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, a revoked registration, giving a false name or address to a police officer and an uninsured motor vehicle.
At 4:30 p.m. police arrested Gayle M. Sandner, of 40 Elmwood Road, Methuen, on Tech Drive. Sandner was charged with assault and battery on a household member.
At 7:12 p.m. a caller reported hearing gunshots in the area on Greenwood Road. An officer spoke to the caller again and found the noises to be fireworks.
At 10:01 p.m. a caller reported that a band at a pub on Park Street was too loud. An officer reports that the band was not too loud at the time of his response.
Sunday, Oct. 14
At 8:53 a.m. a caller reported a three-car motor vehicle accident on Lupine Road. No injuries were reported. Two vehicles were towed from the scene.
At 12:20 p.m. police arrested Barnaby Fernandez, 33, of 223 Linwood St., Lynn. Fernandez was arrested on a warrant.
At 12:55 p.m. a caller reported that an iPod was stolen from his motor vehicle last night on Garfield Lane. The caller's wife's GPS was also stolen from her vehicle.
At 2:34 p.m. a nurse from Lawrence General Hospital reported an Andover resident that had sustained a serious dog bite on her face on Gina Jo Way. The victim was transported to Beth Israel.
