POLL: How Did the Town Handle the Large Special Town Meeting?

Let us know what you thought about the town's response to the overwhelming attendance to the Special Town Meeting last night.

After the Collins Center was packed, a line of 500 people were waiting outside the high school to enter the Special Town Meeting Monday night. And there were more coming.

Because roughly 1,800 attended the meeting, town officials were forced to set up more than one hundred on the stage behind the moderator and hundreds more in the cafeteria, listening in on an audio feed.

The system seemed to work and Town Meeting was able to finish without any huge incident. However, what do you think about the town's response to the large influx of people at Monday night's Town Meeting?

Let us know in the poll below. Make sure to put additional comments in the comments section.

  • How did the town handle seating at Special Town Meeting?

(Voting has been closed for this question)
    • Very well. There was no way they could have expected that many voters and they made changes in a reasonable amount of time.
        13 (30%)
    • Ok. Dealing with 1,800 people will take time. However, they should have at least had a more firm plan on what to do with a surplus of voters.
        18 (41%)
    • Not Well. They should have a way of estimating how many people will show up and prepare for that.
        4 (9%)
    • Terrible. They should've expected that many people and been able to offer seating in a short period of time.
        8 (18%)
