POLL RESULTS: Most Dangerous Intersection

See what readers said was the most dangerous intersection in town.

This week Andover Patch asked readers to let us know which is the most dangerous intersection in town.Take a look at the results below.

Two commenters actually said that the most dangerous intersection is one not in the poll: the intersection of Railroad Avenue, Pearson Street, Essex Street and Shawsheen Road. Is there another dangerous intersection we missed in our poll? Let us know in the comments section.

Here is what some readers said specifically in the comments section of the poll.

Ed McLaughlin said: "Lowell Street to Shawsheen crossing over Reservation Road. Motorists take the right turn on red not expecting vehicles crossing over from Beacon to Reservation. It's like they are running a red light. I've almost gotten hit many times. There should be NO turn on red."

Diane Savoca said: "Most dangerous is where Railroad Ave., Pearson St., Essex St., Shawsheen Rd. meet by the railroad tracks."

Mike C. said: "Agree - the mess at the railroad crossing is one of the weirdest intersections I've ever seen and the most dangerous in Andover."

High Plain Rd and Greenwood Rd. currently it is a 2 way stop, it should really be a 4 way.

The Reservation/Redspring/Andover/Central St. intersection at the Horn Bridge is a 3 way stop. Terrible intersection.

How about making the intersection of Greenwood and High Plain Road a four way stop sign? The way it is now is a major accident waiting to happen.

Try turning left from River Street to Laconia. Canno tsee more than 25 feet because of weeds, bushes and small trees. DPW could make this potential death trap better.
