POLL: Who Won the Final Presidential Debate?
President Obama and former Governor Romney tackled foreign policy in the final debate. Who do you think had a better vision of American power overseas?
President Barack Obama and former Governor Mitt Romney met for a final debate Monday night, spending 90 minutes focused on foreign policy. The Tampa debate is the last of this election cycle.
Who do you think won the debate? Did one candidate put forward a better vision of America's role in the world, or did you find the exchange less than useful?
And after three presidential debates and one vice presidential debate, did you hear anything that cemented your choice or changed your mind? Tell us in the comments below.

Obama won on substance. Romney was somnambulent. I was reminded of the debate between Dick Cheney and Joe Lieberman; Lieberman agreed with Cheney on everything and challenged him minimally. Romney needed to do more than survive and coast tonight; this was his last, best chance to win over swing voters. I can't imagine that that performance was enough to do that.

I don't think the election will be determined by foreign policy. I think Obama and Romney have pretty much the same agenda with the exception of the size of the military. The big divide is the economy and which candidate can get us back on track and create jobs while cutting the deficit and not raising taxes. I think it's a pretty big task but I also think one candidate can do it better than the other. Go Red!

Obama by far.... I wonder if Gov. Romney has ever felt what we feel his mannerism displays....his expressiveness does not give me the trust, conflicts of positioning on issues, excitability..... I regret that our leaders of this country could not put aside their personal politics & not been so divisive to the good of the whole. He deserves more time with the mess he was handed to him in his turn over & then had to fight thru the arrogant infighting every step of the way. I am proud of what he has stood for & accomplished & tried to sustain. He has stayed steadfast the entire way. IMHO, I can't see how there could be the feeling of comfort could be there for Romney....just my sincere feelings. Obama showed great sincerity, firmness, calm power & dignity as a leader.

Obama clearly is incapable of leading our country. 4 years of utter despair! Romney goes head to head with him and puts him to shame. He overpowers his presence on stage, and you can see the defeat in Obama's eyes. No confidence. Our president spends most of the time defending himself and attacking Romney, instead of telling us his plan. He talks about Romney's plan "not adding up", yet he hasn't added up a single thing correctly since he's been president. For four years, he pushed Obamacare, in which over half the country doesn't even desire! The economy contunues to trickle down, but he remains so focused on Obamacare and green energy, as unemployment and poverty rises? What a mistake!!! Have no idea why anyone would vote for Obama.

Obama was more clear in his arguments. He attacked well Romney's poor mathematics and policies. However Romney's economic plan sounded better than Obama's. Romney will be an okay president with some mistakes. Obama will be a careful president but he will have the same problem that he had so far: he doesn't know how to compromise with the Republicans.

There seems to be little difference on foreign policies between the two!
Although I think is was close to a tie, Obama did come across as angry and little at times.
Romney seamed more presidential to me!
Having said this, I do not think the polls will be moved much, and this is not good news for obama because at the end of the day, "it's about the economy stupid"!
Just a foot note: in all 3 debates, Obama kept saying that the military is not asking for more funds! Does he not know that he is commander in chief, and that he makes the decisions and sets policy for the military? That would be like saying that if my employees are not asking for a raise or benefits, that I shouldn't do what's in their interest, and give them deep cuts in pay because their not objecting!
The only difference is that the safety of over 300 million people's lives are put in jeapordy!

Although I am an avid Romney supporter I will not personally offend our president. I respect his authority but I think he may be in over his head. Politics and change are very difficult things for people in general to handle or understand. There will always be flaws no matter what. Although our president articulates himself very well and has tried to put forth effort to help us I am afraid that in doing so he has presented our country as weak in regards to foreign relations. His Obamacare also carries the HHS Mandate which forces businesses and institutions to provide plans and services even if they are ones in which directly violate religious and moral consciences. I will admit that I voted for Obama in the last election, but
after seeing how much he has imposed on the general population without our knowledge or consent I have totally swung to the other side. I also agree with Romney's economic plan and his vision for how we should stand up for ourselves globally. Obama has tried but hasn't really moved us forward. Actually, our country has become much more divided. I've decided to give Romney a chance and most people I talk to who voted for Obama will be doing the same thing. I just don't think Obama knows the future consequences of his actions. Let Romney's business experience and
respect for religious freedom guide us for the next four years. I'm confident that we will see some changes for the better. Please consider Romney and his ample experience when you vote.

Like the second debate this was close. But it is not Romney that has to win the independents at this point. It is obama. Romney is winning in most polls. Foreign policy is not the number one issue. It is the economy and obama has been a complete failure when it comes to that.

Wow! So many repubs on this board it's like being in a different reality. In case any of you didn't notice Romney agreed with just about everything the president was doing. And in case you hadn't noticed that was a complete 180 from his prior stances since he started campaigning and in some points a complete turn-around from a few weeks ago! Pander much? The president tried to exude steady, methodical, strong leadership and all Romney could muster was "I agree". Whenever the president cal out Romneys "change of mind" that's all Romney could do was jab with " You're attacking me". We will soon see if any of the rope-a-dope tactics worked for Romney but as a registered independent voter I'm not convinced we should change one for the other.

By looking at this post, it is clear that women allow themselves to be swayed by their emotions rather than who would make for a better president and our domestic economy. By this measure, Obama will win the electoral college and Romney the popular vote. Romney has proven in our own state that he has the ability to work with democrats. Romney is more of a democrat than Obama a republican. If Romney could work with Ted Kennedy to get the Massachusetts Universal Health Bill passed. Then it is obvious that Romney would make for a more pliable, amicable Congress/Senate. An Obama win, regardless on how one sex "feels" will further polorize this country, continue the divisiveness in Congress/Senate. An Obama win will give a gut kick into the Stock Exchange, our money will become worthless, you can expect hyper inflation on food and energy. Our economy will go into a final and long lasting recession/depression. In simple terms, our economy will tank due to more regulation, higher taxes, lack of energy exploration, lack of energy renewell. Basically what we have experienced over the past four years, will get worse. An unbridled Obama 2nd presidency will bring about a kind of socialism never experimented in this country. Personally I am offended by being a guinea pig in economic terms. I don't like Romneys personality, never did. But we are better with a change of course, these past years my portfolio has tanked along with my salary. My children have moved back home.

President Obama's agenda for a second term includes these things: He Wins !
Subsidize expensive energy that is largely impractical and penalize cheap fossil fuels that work well
Expand means-tested income maintenance and support payments beyond the $1 trillion level today
Expand filings for Social Security Disability beyond the 1.3 million he added so that today's 1 out of 16.2 workers on disability can go to 1 out of 12 or maybe 11
Pile up 4 more 13-digit budget deficits
Grow the federal government spending proportion of GDP from its long-term average of 19.4% beyond today's 24.4% to something closer to 35%
Reduce economic growth from its current all-time 14-quarter sustained low level of 1.45% per year to maybe something below 1%
Drive down median household real personal income by more than the $4,300 it dropped in his first term
Reduce the number of working Americans in both BLS surveys by a factor greater than the negative net job creation in his first 4 years
Improve the climate for bankruptcy attorneys
Enroll another 10-15 million on food stamps beyond the additional 15 million he added to the program in his first term
Reduce the proportion of working-age adult new population entrants that enter the workforce from its long-run average back to the Carter years of 74% to a level below the 9.2% we witnessed in his first term
Of course, this is only a partial list because, as Michelle Obama told us at the convention, Barack is "playing a long game

Is Romney the devil? No. Is Obama the devil? No. I remain an independant that's leaning toward the current administration. Again I'll ask - Am I the only one who kept his job because of the recovery act spending? I agree that deficits need to be reduced and we shouldn't go forward with the same level of spending but, from what I've seen in my 50+ years on the planet, the Republicans are not different than Democrats when it comes to writing checks - neither looks at the balance.

I'm I the only one that will be laying off employees and cutting year end bonuseses and benefits to my employees do to the crippling taxes that come with Obama care and the promise of Obama to raise my business and personal tax come January 1?
HDS, my guess is that you are in a union, because the majority of the so called stimulus money went to states that made irresponsible promises to
government employees, and Obama made sure these promises were kept by paying back the people that donated to his campaign to keep him in office. A form of Money laundering with our money!
And we wonder why the stimuless didn't work?

The private sector is about to get a great big kick in the teeth come January 1, as well as all the middle class employees that work for these company's
And this is going to help the middle class how?
The problem is Obama either doesn't know simple economics, or does not care about these people! They are probably not going to vote for him anyway. It's just sad, because this makes up for the majority of the population, and will further destroy this economy!
Also, layoffs are inevitable with his plan, and we can expect to see unemployment rates jump drastically!
Please people, look at the big picture, vote with your head and try to dissect the propaganda and lies to scare you. They're just not true, and we could all find ourselves in a very bad situation in the next 4 years, or probably less if we continue on this same path to the Grand Canyon!

Doug: "So many republicans on here" Do you have any idea how many democrats are voting for Romney. You are the one who needs a reality check. The mideast is burning. foreign policy failure. Economy is in reverse, failed domestic policy. There are a ton of people who aren't as shallow as those who vote "D" no matter how inadequate the leadership. Get a grip
Saber Walsh

I can't agree more. I grew up in a "Big D" family and feel the party deserted us for something that America really isn't nor should be. I tried being an "R" for awhile but I couldn't stand the thought that "Long John" Silver from BU was their big pick to lead education (the same man who said that dyslexia doesn't exist, and by the way, somebody has to empty my trash).
Obama won because the country wanted to move away from George Bush, who surrounded himself with the worst VP and advisors probably on the planet. How else could someone with no real political record on any issue, no job history, and known friendships with anti-American people and groups get in? Because we were voting against Bush, not for Obama.
This time will likely be different. I think there's going to be a lot of "D" folks who are going to be voting against Obama instead of for Romney. The worst reason in the world to cast a vote, but "change you can believe in" means doing something different than the nonsense we've been up to for the past 4 years.

If you think President Obama hasn’t delivered, consider this quote by Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell in October, 2010:
“The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president.”
Really? The Republican Senators have prioritized the good of the nation over the recapture of the coveted Oval Office? The track record of the Senate Minority has shown that that is precisely where their prioritizations have been. Remember that in the Senate, a minority can stop business with the filibuster. The business of the people is held hostage for political ambition.
It gets worse in the House, where there is a Republican majority. The House sits idle, while a looming sequestration crisis looms. If you think that the sequestration crisis will be resolved after November 6 with the current House leadership, consider that only last month Speaker of the House, John Boehner (R-OH) said,
“Listen, the House has done its job on both the sequester and on the looming tax hikes”
Really, Mr. Boehner? So as long Boehner gets his way everything is OK, otherwise, off the cliff we go. I guess the Speaker, who is the third person in the line of succession to the presidency per the Constitution, has never heard of Harry Truman. Good job passing the buck. It’s not your problem, right?
It seems clear to me that if you want positive change in a couple of weeks, the prudent course of action is to keep the president and change the Congress.
