Resident Found Passed Out With Stolen Jewelry in Marblehead Home
An Andover man was arrested Sunday night after he was allegedly found passed out in a Marblehead home with stolen jewelry in his pocket.
An Andover man was arrested on Intrepid Circle in Marblehead Sunday night after a local woman told police she found him passed out in her home with stolen jewelry in his pocket.
Colin McQuade, 43, of 9 Golden Oaks Lane, pleaded innocent Monday in Lynn District Court to charges of larceny over $250 and larceny of a drug (Temazetam).
At 8:42 p.m., a woman called police to report that she was feeling threatened by someone who was inside her house.
When officers arrived, the woman told police that she found McQuade, who she met in rehab, passed out upstairs at her home with assorted pieces of her gold jewelry in the pocket of his jeans.
Her jewelry box, she said, was found out of place in the bathroom. The 19 jewelry items discovered in McQuade's pocket were reportedly valued at $300.
After he was taken away from the scene, the woman reportedly called police and told them 10 of her Temazetam tablets were missing.
Judge Albert Conlon set McQuade's bail at $250 cash and ordered that he return to court on Dec. 8 for a pretrial hearing. He hadn't posted bail by the close of court Monday afternoon.
