School Officials Investigating Student's 'Hit List' at West Middle
Andover School Superintendent Marinel McGrath released a statement Friday evening regarding a student at West Middle School who had allegedly created a 'hit list' consisting of other students' names.
ANDOVER, MA -- Andover Public Schools are in the process of looking into a student who was in possession of a "hit list" at West Middle School. The list, School Superintendent Marinel McGrath said, contained names of others students.
McGrath said that, in situations like these, safety of the student and staff is most important. However, she said she would not provide any details on the incident.
"Andover Public Schools' highest priority is providing a safe learning and teaching environment for our students and staff," McGrath said in statement. "Due to federal and state student privacy laws we cannot comment on matters involving the discipline of a specific student."
A call to Andover Police Lt. James Hashem was not immediately returned.
Moreover, McGrath said that she feels that the appropriate actions have been taken to prevent any "threat of danger in the school."
"I am satisfied based on my communications with the Principal that all appropriate and necessary measures have been taken in this instance to prevent any threat of danger in the school," McGrath wrote.

Do these kids NOT listen??? I have commented before on this topic. You kids are only hurting yourselfs. Do you NOT UNDERSTAND that if you are involved with law enforcement you hurt you chances of ever getting a good job. And in some cases ever getting into a good college...

This child may be all of 11 or 12 years old. I'm not quite ready to write them off because of this incident. I suspect this is a cry for help from a bullied tween, and hopefully he/she will get the help they need.

It really is NOT about listening...rather children who are not mentally well..and need attention..much like having a physical ailment..requires medication.

1I buy almost everything from here Http://whatsogood.com Most people are not aware of the almost unbelievable deals that they can get from online auction sites I checked with the BBB and was told that it is all legit How they can sell gift cards, laptops, cameras, and all kinds of goodies that we all want for 50-90% off, I don’t know. I do know that I bought my son an iPad there for less than $100 and my husband a $250 Low gift cards for $48. Why would I even think about shopping anyplace else?

I hope you kids are ok. If things are going on and you need someone to talk to. You have a great source. School personal parents churches law. Times have changed don't screw up your lifes by trying to take things in your own hands. And also stop with the letters. Once your in the system your life is over...no one will hire you...just please think before you act..

Should parents be concerned about the safety of their children if this student is let back into school? I've heard this echoed among several parents.
Also, an update is coming tomorrow morning at 6 a.m.

It is always better if you can identify the crazies before they start killing people.
Good job this time.

Why are so many young people so mentally imbalanced that would go to such dire extremes to get what they want? They've been pampered, spoiled~~given every expensive electronic device, exotic trips, expensive clothes~~but have never been expected to assume any responsibilities in return. Nor have they been taught any self-discipline, restraint, values, or guidance. Every person has difficulties in life~~that's life. If we haven't been given any tools to deal with dissappointment, we throw a tantrum, only now it's murder.
