Police that the SUV that crashed into the front of Royal Jewelers this morning was stolen and the crash may have been an attempted break-in, according to an article in the Eagle Tribune.

The driver fled the scene after the accident and no other injuries were reported.

The crash damaged the front wooden facade of the building and the door. However, the glass display cases did not shatter. The store owner said that the car was coming from Chestnut Street and drove straight across Main Street, hitting the door.
