UPDATE: Two Dead After Shooting on Orchard Crossing
The couple's burned vehicle was reportedly found in the North End Tuesday night.
Two people have been shot and killed at 7 Orchard Crossing.
Andover Police Chief Brian Pattullo said a call came in at 9:18 a.m. When police arrived, they found the bodies of two people -- a man and a woman -- in a room on the first floor. The home is owned by John and Geraldine Magee, who operate Advance Realty Co., out of the home. The couple developed the Orchard Crossing neighborhood.
They also owned Magee Construction Company in Arlington, according to the Boston Business Journal.
Bob Marcus, 80, who has lived a block away for 40 years, recalled that people had mixed feelings about the development when it was built. He described them as a quiet couple.
"This doesn't happen in Andover very often and I hope it doesn't again," he said. "It really is a tragedy."
Another neighbor, who wished not to be identified, described the Magees as a "quiet couple," who "seemed happy" and took care of their grandchildren.
Andover and State Police are on the scene and the Essex Count District Attorney’s Office are investigating.
Police were earlier searching for a 2008 black Lexus with the license plate 838505 that may be involved with the crime, but the be on the lookout was canceled. The car belonged to the homeowner.
