This coming Tuesday night at Andolini’s, selectman Alex Vispoli will be holding his kick-off event to mark his bid for the second Essex and Middlesex state senate seat, now occupied by Barry Finegold (D-Andover).

“I’ll be making a formal announcement of my candidacy,” said Vispoli, who is running as a Republican.

The event is Tuesday, April 24, and will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Andolini’s, 19 Essex Street.

Vispoli is now serving in his 9^th year, or the last year of his third term, as a member on the Andover Board of Selectmen. He is also on the Board of Directors of the Mass Municipal Association (MMA) and was elected to the Massachusetts Selectmen’s Association, where he represents Essex County and Middlesex County.

State Rep. Paul Adams, R-Andover, is also running for the seat.
