Seeing a line out of the door of the Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt Shop in downtown Andover is very much commonplace. People will use the word addictive when describing the shop that allows you to mix and match dozens of different flavors of frozen yogurt and add your toppings to make the exact dessert of your choosing.

And they’ve been holding a monopoly on frozen desserts in the area with no one even close to offering the same service. Until now.

Mad Maggie's will be opening up in October and with their popularity in North Andover, it would be no surprise to see them become an instant hit in Andover.

So it comes down to this: what will attract the lion’s share of the downtown dessert crowd, frozen yogurt or ice cream?
