The parade runs from Elm Square down Main to Punchard Avenue and then ends at the Park.
Andover's annual Memorial Day Parade will begin at 10 a.m. next Monday morning, May 27, at the intersection of Elm Street and Florence Street. Many civic, patriotic and fraternal organizations march in the annual town event. Any others not already participating that wish to march should contact the Veterans’ Services Office at (978) 623-8218. There will be a collation at the Doherty Middle School cafeteria at 11:30 A.M. for all parade participants. As per custom, no political activity can be accommodated in and during the parade. The route leads from the intersection of Elm and Florence Streets to Main Street, to Punchard Avenue, Bartlet Street and ends at The Park. Here is a round-up of live music throughout the North Shore this weekend.
This weekend is packed with live music on the North Shore and a whole bunch of bands playing a wide variety of music genres, from classic rock to blues and soul, can be seen for free at rock clubs and restaurants throughout the region. The Guy Ford Band is playing the Red Rock Bistro on Friday night. This local group consists of a "five piece eclectic acoustic folk rock band featuring Guy Ford's unique guitar work and the incredible cello playing of Daniel Rowe with strong 3-4 part harmonies. The Drop Zone is playing at Rockafellas on Saturday night. Per the band's wesbite, the Drop Zone "is a full production rock/pop/dance cover band. Drop Zone is a top-notch act covering everything from The Bravery to Bob Marley, Rage Against The Machine to The Killers and The Rolling Stones to Katy Perry. Find crafts a plenty at the Crafts in the Park event coming up this Saturday, May 11, at the Park, located at the corner of Chestnut Street and Bartlet Street.
The 37th annual Crafts in the Park event is coming to Andover again this weekend. Come celebrate the handmade arts and crafts of over 120 artisans from all over New England. The fair will include all of the same wares as the years before but with a new group of craft vendors. And for Mother's Day coming up, the craft fair will most certainly have a host of presents for Mom. Check out the CIP website at www.craftsinthepark.com for additional details. Three Andover kids will be performing in a production of the Secret Garden from May 9 to May 19.
Three Andover kids will be performing in a production of the Secret Garden at Newburyport's Firehouse Theatre from May 9 to May 19. "It's an inspiring show so great for the spring," said Mary Hall, mother of the three kids in the play. "Mothers will love it for Mother's Day...Fathers will love it. It covers love, loss and friendship - beautiful vocal score." Caroline Hall, 12, Katherine Hall, 14, and Joseph Hall, 9, all have lead roles in the production.
