Shockers, Brewers Take Titles in DCS Fall Softball League
The Park Street Pub Brewers and the Claddagh/Pub Shockers each claimed a title of DCS Fall Softball League Champions for their respective divisions this week to
close out the 2012 season.
The Brewers defeated Broadcom on Wednesday night in a 2-0 series sweep while the Shockers settled a longstanding rivalry with the Misfits by defeating them 2-1
in the series on Thursday night at Recreation Park. After the Misfits put up a
nine run inning in the top of the fifth, the Shockers retaliated with an
eight-run bottom of the inning to stay within striking distance. Down
19-17 in the seventh, the Shockers’ Jim Ogborn (Andover, MA), who went 4-4 with four home runs on the night, knocked in a two run homer to even the score followed by Taylor Edler’s (Merrimack, MA) walk-off home run to seal the Shocker’s fifth straight DCS Fall League Championship.
The DCS Softball League is a co-ed league run for adults during the fall and the
spring. Contact Bill Letourneau, 978-682-2525, for more information or to
