Merrimack Valley Philharmonic to Perform Family Holiday Concert While Hosting 11th Annual Holiday Silent Auction

Rogers Center for the Performing Arts, 315 Turnpike St, North Andover, MA | Get Directions »
$20.00

The Merrimack Valley Philharmonic Orchestra is very pleased to announce the Gospel Choir, under the direction of Renese King, will once again join the orchestra for its upcoming holiday performance.  Ms. King, who has been featured with the Boston Pops Orchestra and Tanglewood Festival Chorus, will join the orchestra to sing “Go Tell it on the Mountain” and  “O Holy Night”.  The Boston Globe has described King’s soulful moving voice as “resplendent” and “thrilling.”  Renese’s “phenomenal, wide-ranging” voice has piqued growing national attention.  The concert will also feature student violinist and orchestra member, Paul Cronin.  He will be performing Pablo Sarasate’s Zigeunerweisen Opus 20, No. 1.  Paul has had the honor of studying with violinist Matthew Green, as well as training with renowned soloist Aaron Rosand, Dr. David Upham of UNH, and Peter Sulski of the London Symphony.  Paul has earned many honors, which include special recognition in the NH All State Music Festival and various regional music festivals.  The orchestra will round out the concert by playing many family holiday favorites, a sing-a-long, and the Hallelujah Chorus.

Preceding the concert at the Rogers Center, the doors will open at 1 PM for the orchestra’s Eleventh Annual Silent Auction.  The auction will be held through intermission and winners will be announced during the concert.  Many artisans and businesses donate their time, talents, products and services to support the arts in the Merrimack Valley.  Auction items may be paid for by cash or check only on the day of the concert.
