RE/MAX Long Drivers of America Super Qualifier
701 Bunker Lake Blvd NE, Ham Lake, MN | Get Directions »
$40.00
It’s time to swing for the fences— but put away the bats and pull out the golf clubs! RE/MAX Results announced today it will host a Long Drivers of America super qualifying event for the RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship on Sunday, July 15, 2012, at Majestic Oaks Golf Club in Ham Lake, Minn. The event, from 2-8 p.m., will qualify competitors for the regional championships in August and winners from that event will advance to the world finals in Mesquite, Nev., Oct. 21-25.
“It’s astonishing how far people can hammer out a drive, with both strength and accuracy,” said Curt Lingwall, sponsoring agent with RE/MAX Results. “The Long Driver competition isn’t necessarily for those who consider themselves a scratch golfer — if you can hit the golf ball with power, this event is for you.”
Contestants will compete in one of two age divisions, over 45 and under 45, and can register on site the day of the tournament. Entry fees are $40 per try, which includes six balls each, and participants may enter multiple times to claim their highest possible distance. At the national level, contestants will compete not only for the longest drive title, but more than half a million dollars in prize money. The finals will be broadcast on ESPN3, the cable sports network’s web-only channel.

Why is there no qualifying site in western Canada one of Remax's biggest regions?
