Alex Vispoli Announces Andover Campaign Captain

Andover, MA … Today Alex Vispoli, Republican candidate for the State Senate in the Second Essex and Middlesex district, proudly announced that Mary O’Donoghue will be Andover captain for the campaign.

“Mary is a hard worker and we are happy to have her as part of our growing team.  She will play a key role in helping get our message of fiscal responsibility, a better economy and legislative integrity out to people in Andover,” said Vispoli.

Vispoli has been running a strong grassroots campaign by going door to door.  Voters have been overwhelmingly responded to his message.

“It is crucial to nominate a Republican with private sector experience and a record of integrity.  That’s why I am supporting Alex Vispoli,” said O’Donoghue.  “Alex will use his business experience to improve the economy and grow jobs.  I am proud to be part of his team.”

Mary has been an Andover resident since 1989. She has been actively involved in the community, most recently as Vice Chair of the Finance Committee. She is a top producing REALTOR with Prudential Howe & Doherty REALTORS in Andover and enjoys a stellar reputation for her professionalism, integrity and business acumen.

O’Donoghue will assist the campaign with organizing leaflet drops, phone banks, and sign stand outs. 

Vispoli was first elected to the Andover Board of Selectmen in 2004.  On the board, he has led initiatives including: consolidation of Andover’s IT organization and infrastructure, creation of the Andover Economic Development Council, I93 proposed interchange project, opening the Old Town Hall on Saturday mornings, creation of Andover’s Design Review Board, reduction in Town owned vehicles, and annual citizens mid – year review for major project updates, regionalization opportunities with surrounding towns – including North Andover shared DPW resource.

 

Vispoli was also elected the Massachusetts Municipal Association (MMA) Board of Directors and the Massachusetts Selectmen’s Association (MSA) Board of Directors in 2011.  He is currently the District 2 Representative (Essex and Middlesex Counties) for the MSA.   He is a member of the Governor’s Local Government Advisory Commission and MMA’s Policy Committee on Municipal and Regional Administration.

 

Professionally, Vispoli has been in the information technology business for 25 years.  He currently holds the position of Vice President of Sales for a Boston-based technology company.  Vispoli earn his Bachelor’s degree from Eastern Nazarene College.   Most importantly, Vispoli is a devoted husband and father of 4 children.
