Kids are “Too Cute To Spook” at DCS Halloween Event

On Wednesday, October 30th the Andover Department of Community Services (DCS) hosted a community tot event at Old Town Hall called “Too Cute to Spook”. The event was for children ages 1-6 with an adult and included fun games, arts & grafts, a spooky obstacle course, and tasty refreshments.

Kids came decked out in their favorite costumes, winning awards for everything from “Prettiest Princess” to “Best Firefighter”.  Games for the little ones included Broomstick Mini Golf, Pumpkin Bowling, Witch Hat Ring Toss, and Pin the Nose on the Pumpkin. There were also craft projects such as make your own hanging ghost, cat or spider which the children got to bring home, along with a goodie bag of treats.

DCS Director Mary Montbleau also dressed as a fortune teller to entertain the kids with a story time, reading fun Halloween classic tales to the kids.

The event was a smash hit with over 40 kids in attendance. DCS is hosting two more community tot events this fall, on Wednesday, November 20th and Wednesday, December 18th.  The theme for the November 20th event is “Fall Fun Fest” which will include a variety of games and craft projects such as face painting, a hay maze, and cookie decorating to celebrate the fall season.  On December 18th, it’s “Hooray for the Holidays” to ring in the holiday season with snowball relay games, hand print wreaths, and more!
