NOT YOUR AVERAGE JOE’S TO SUPPORT THE NORTHEASTERN MASS. WALK TO END ALZHEIMER'S IN ANDOVER

The Alzheimer’s Association 2013 Northeastern Massachusetts Walk to End Alzheimer’s® will take place on Sunday, September 29, 2013 at 200 Brickstone Square in Andover, Massachusetts. The Not Your Average Joe’s restaurant in Methuen, Massachusetts has stepped up once again to provide more than your average support for the Walk.

This year, as in the past 3 years, Gahiji Marshall, Manager of the Not Your Average Joe's in Methuen works with his talented staff to prepare, donate, deliver, set up and serve food for the walkers.  They have also hosted kick off parties at the restaurant leading up to the event.  Not Your Average Joe's Founder and CEO Steven Silverstein lost his brother to Alzheimer's just last year.

"We set up a table so that walkers can easily come through and enjoy a delicious made-from-scratch selection," said Gahiji Marshall. "This year, we will be arriving with freshly prepared soup by our Head Chef Tim Henning, who will be joining me to serve at the event. It's great to see the amount of support out there for such a wonderful cause."

Alzheimer’s disease is a growing epidemic and is now the nation’s sixth-leading cause of death.  As baby boomers age, the number of individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease will rapidly escalate, increasing well beyond the more than 5 million Americans living with Alzheimer’s today. The disease has a significant impact on family members, with nearly 15 million providing care to a loved one, according to the Alzheimer’s Association.
