Shawsheen River Watershed Welcomes in the Summer Solstice

The Shawsheen River Watershed Association is celebrating the summer solstice on Friday, June 21.

Shawsheen River Watershed Association is celebrating the Third Annual Summer Solstice Celebration on Friday. June 21st, 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM at the Pomps Pond Recreation Area, Abbot Road in Andover.

The event is open to all and costs nothing. 

Some of the activities include: boating and gear for paddling around the pond, a short presentation on the astronomy, history, and cultural significance of the solstice and musicians from local band JOE'S GARAGE will be on hand to entertain.

The night also includes lawn games and a campfire, so bring your own supplies for S'Mores.

Folks are encouraged to bring their own snacks and beverages, but no alcoholic beverages allowed. 

No swimming will be available at this event.
