5 Things You Need to Know Today, Oct. 19

Before you start your day here are five things you need to know.

1. Sharps Disposal: The Andover Health Division has created a new sharps drop-off program for the proper disposal of used needles, syringes, and lancets. The first of two collection days is tomorrow at the Andover Public Safety Center from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. 

2. Andover's Halloween: The Town of Andover has announced that Trick-or-Treating will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 31 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

3.  Fire Department Open House: The Fire-Rescue Department will hold its annual open house tomorrow, Oct. 20 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

4. Curbside Leaf Collection Begins: Curbside leaf collection begins this week (Oct. 15) and will continue through Nov. 30, with the exception of the week of Thanksgiving (11/19 – 11/24). Find more information on the town's website.

5. Weather: Today will be mostly sunny with a high temperature of 40 degrees. Tonight will be clear in the lower 40s.
