Blues Great Guy Davis and Guitar virtuosso Shun Ng concert

Bluesman Guy Davis performs at the New Moon Coffeehouse on Saturday, January
18th at 8:00 pm. The coffeehouse is located in the Unitarian
Universalist Church, 16 Ashland St, Haverhill MA. Admission to the show is $20;
$10 for those ages 18 and under. The gifted 23-year-old
guitarist/singer/songwriter Shun Ng opens the show.

Guy Davis is a musician, composer, actor,
director, and writer. But most importantly, he is a bluesman.
The blues permeates every corner of Davis' creativity.  Throughout
his career, he has dedicated himself to reviving the traditions of acoustic blues
and bringing them to listeners everywhere. His music can be soulful,
moaning out a people’s cry, or playful and bouncy as a hay-ride. He can tell you stories of his great-grandparents and his
grandparents, they’re days as track linemen, and of their interactions with the
infamous KKK. He can also tell you that as a child raised in middle-class New
York suburbs, the only cotton he’s picked is his underwear up off the floor.

Shun Ng stands as one of the
most innovative new performers, playing international festivals and winning
accolades from some of the industry's top names.  Shun was recently named
one of the Top 10 Acts in
Boston
by Improper Bostonian, and has just come back from LA after
meeting with legend Quincy Jones,
who said of him: "When
you see Shun Ng, you won't believe your eyes nor your ears -- he belies all
stereotypes, all premonitions.  I was simply blown away by both his soul
and his science -- his creativity and his uniqueness is astounding."

            The easiest
way to get to the coffeehouse is to take 495 to exit
51A (Route 125 South). Stay on Route 125 South for about 1.5 miles. At
intersection of Routes 125 & 110, look left for a red brick church.
Turn left onto Kenoza Ave (aka Rte 110). Then take the first right by the UHaul
trucks. And turn right onto Ashland St.  There are 2 parking lots available behind the
church, on both sides of Ashland St. The coffeehouse entrance is also there, at
the back of the church.
