Blue Christmas Service

Is this The Happiest Time of the Year? For many people, it is. For others, the joy of the season underscores their own feelings of loss, grief, and sadness. Perhaps a loved one died at this time of year, perhaps they have been diagnosed with an illness, or lost their job, or are alienated from loved ones, or are facing any number of challenges. When every TV commercial and Christmas carol is telling you to be happy, you can feel your own realities are at odds with the world around you. This is the origin of the "Blue Christmas Service," a service which recognizes that not everyone is happy this time of year, and yet offers the hope of the Christ child who stands beside us in our sorrow.

Please join St. Paul's Episcopal Church of North Andover and Christ Church of Andover for a Blue Christmas service which will be held at Christ Church.  Candlelight, music, prayers, and Eucharist combine to comfort God's people during this holiday season.
