Tree Time 2013 Planning Meeting

We know, we know... it's only August! But we're sure that it comes as no surprise that we're already looking ahead
to this year's Tree Time at the Society!

Our wonderful new exhibit, Behind the Seams: Stories of Clothing, 1790-1920, is now up and on display and will be serving as the inspiration for this year's tree decorations. We already have 18 confirmed trees and we'd love to reach our goal of 35!

For those not familiar with Tree Time, the Historical Society presents a large display of decorated Christmas trees each December. Decorations for each tree are inspired by something historical in our collection and a decorator or decorating team creates a themed look. The Society provides the trees while the decorators provide all the creativity!

Our next meetings will be Thursday, August 22nd at 2pm and
7pm
. And no, you don't need to come to both, but we're holding them at 2
times to accommodate everyone's busy schedules. If you haven't
participated in the past, the August meetings are a great time to learn
more.

If you know
that you would like to decorate a tree this
year (with or without a group) but aren't able to attend meetings,
please send a note to Carrie Midura at cmidura@andoverhistorical.org so she can make plans with you individually.

Many thanks for five great years of trees, and here's to number six!
