Women’s Self-Defense Seminar to Benefit Milford Domestic Violence Center

Impact School of Martial Arts is teaming up with Wayside Youth and Family Support Network to provide a special Women’s Self-Defense seminar.

This special training session will take place on Saturday, June 16th from 2:00 P.M to 4:00 P.M. at the Impact School of Martial Arts, 191 Mechanic St. in Bellingham.  Proceeds from this event will benefit the local Domestic Violence and Rape Center in Milford.

The Impact Women’s Self Defense Class is geared toward giving women the confidence and skills to protect themselves from attack.  Topics to be covered during the session include gun and knife defense, striking and kicking, becoming aware of your surroundings, how to decrease vulnerability by minimizing your potential to become a victim, and how to develop the most important weapon – your mind.

“All women live with a certain level of risk of violent crime, and this training will provide them with the tangible skills and confidence to stay safe, said Impact Master Instructor, Soke Greg Goepfert.  “We are proud to partner with Wayside to help contribute to the safety of women in our community, and help enhance the important work of the Domestic Violence and Rape Center.”

To register for the Impact Women’s Self-Defense class you can visit the Impact website at www.groundwarrior.com or call 508-966-1662.  The cost is $25.00 and proceeds will benefit the Domestic Violence and Rape Center in Milford.
