Smart Phones Are For More Than Making Phone Calls

The invention of the smart phone has changed our world in more ways than one.  In the world of organizing, smart phones can be utilized to help keep lists, schedules and general information.  This in turn leads to less clutter (both in your home and head!).

When working with a client recently, we came across a food product that had not been opened, but was likely quite old and should not be consumed (the container had no expiration date on it either).  My client was clearly heming and hawing in his head thinking about what to do with the food; he had interest in consuming it but could not remember when he acquired it.  

The idea then came to him to take a picture of the label of the container and the manufacturer information on his Smart Phone so he could look the product up online at a later time.  I thought this was a great solution.  For some people, typing a note into a phone notepad application may have been sufficient, but this client struggled with the keys and knew that would be too time consuming.  

Now when he decides to look up the product, he will know everything he needs to know and there is no risk of forgetting anything from the label.  Should he never spend the time to look the item up, no harm done, just an itty bitty picture on his phone!
