Rep. Lyons Announces Saturday Automatic Gas Tax Repeal Signature Drive

This Saturday, State Representative Jim Lyons, in conjunction with North Andover GOP Chair CJ Gangi, will be coordinating efforts to gather signatures for the initiative petition to Repeal the Automatic Gas Tax Increase, which Governor Patrick signed into law over the summer (http://www.tankthegastax.org/).

“The prices that the struggling, hardworking families of the Merrimack Valley pay at the pump are already high enough. They simply cannot afford an automatic tax hike that will increase that price every year, with absolutely no discussion about how it will impact them. Taxation without representation must not be allowed to continue on Beacon Hill,” commented Lyons.

Teams will be out collecting signatures this Saturday, October 26th from 10am to 4pm at the following locations:

Market Basket in North Andover, 350 Winthrop Ave (Rt 114)

Stop & Shop in Andover, 209 Main St

Market Basket in Tewksbury, 1900 Main St
