Thinking about reading your way through 2014? What a grand idea! I always think about doing this, and a friend of mine said he plans on reading (and blogging) about his progress as he reads one book a week in 2014.
I'm not sure if I join the revolution and do that — I'm easily distracted by Doctor Who, let's face it — but I can at least help you all pick out some new fiction titles to advance your reading journey.
Amazon released its Best Books of January list last week. At the top of the list is Sue Monk Kidd's The Invention of Wings, a historical fiction novel set in the 1830s — and an Oprah Book Club selection from December. I didn't even know Oprah was still doing her book club, but apparently she still is. And as usual, Oprah's selection holds a lot of clout.
Other books on the Amazon Best Books of January list are:
- Andrew's Brain: A Novel
- On Such a Full Sea: A Novel
- Radiance of Tomorrow: A Novel
- Before I Burn: A Novel
- Ping-Pong Diplomacy
- Apple Tree Yard
- Hollow City
- The Kept: A Novel
