Break-In Reported at Nazarian Jewelers

The following are excerpts from the log. The log is open to the public.
Friday, Feb. 24
At 8:16 a.m. responded to a report of a brush fire on Crystal Circle.

At 11:48 a.m. an Andover Street business reported that the back wall of a building was vandalized with graffiti.
At 12:49 p.m. an injured owl was reported on Salem Street.

At 3:42 p.m. police arrested Carla Huertas, 20, of 256 Market St., Lowell, on River Road. Huertas was charged with the unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
At 5 p.m. the Fire Department responded to a call of a car fire on Stevens Street. The operator was attempting to jump start the vehicle the jumper cables caught on fire.
Saturday, Feb. 25
At 11:10 a.m. North Andover police reported a large oak tree that fell down at the Andover/North Andover town line. A resident pulled over and used a chainsaw to take the tree away.
At 12:28 p.m. a caller reported a stolen snow blower on Haverhill Street.
At 2:05 p.m. a caller reported a down tree in the roadway on Apple Blossom Road.
At 2:41 p.m. a caller reported a motor vehicle that hit a tree on Harold Parker Road. No injuries were reported.
At 5:51 p.m. police arrested Angel J. Perez, 39, of 17 Thorton Ave., Apt. 1, Lawrence, on Lowell Street. Perez was charged with giving a false name during booking, operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license, distribution of a class B substance, and possession of a controlled substance in or near a school or playground.
Sunday, Feb. 26
At 11:07 a.m. police arrested Terence Lee, 48, of 4 Economou Ave., Pelham, N.H., on River Road. Lee was charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license due to a drunk driving charge, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor and possessing an open container of liquor in a motor vehicle.
At 2:09 p.m. a caller reported seeing two hunters in the woods close to a building on Federal Street.
At 6:10 p.m. a break-in was reported at on Main Street. An officer reported that the front door was smashed and it appeared to be an active break. The thief or thieves also smashed a display case in the store and made off with a quantity of jewelery. Police did not have a cash estimate for the stolen property and are investigating the incident.
