SUV Crashes Into Train at Andover Station

The vehicle struck the train when the train was stopped.

A car crashed into a train at the Andover MBTA Commuter Rail station Thursday evening.

"It literally happened right underneath me," Molly Buccini, who was on her way home on the Haverhill line, said.

The SUV drove into the train at the corner of Railroad Street and Pearson Street while the train was stopped at the station about to leave at approximately 6:30 p.m.

"There was a commotion, and I turned to someone and said 'Did a conductor just say that a car hit us?'" she said.

No one on the train was injured. The woman driving the vehicle was reportedly conscious and taken to a hospital. It is not known what her injuries are.
