Darrell Keene, Andover Teacher, Accused of Sexually Assaulting Child
Keene, a teacher at West Middle School in Andover, was charged with sexually assaulting a child in Stratham, N.H.
Darrell Keene, a teacher at West Middle School in Andover, has been charged with sexually assaulting a child in New Hampshire.
WCVB-TV reported Keene, an eighth-grade math teacher, was arraigned in Lawrence District Court Tuesday. He allegedly assaulted a juvenile from Stratham, N.H.
The victim met Keene online, police said. It was not clear how the old the victim was at the time of the assault.
Keene is 40 years old and lives in Haverhill. In addition to teaching, he was a theater director in the Haverhill area, according to the Eagle-Tribune.
His Twitter profile says he's a "teacher, actor, singer, (and) genealogist."
Andover schools Superintendent Marinel McGrath sent out a letter to parents that said a "West Middle School employee" was placed on leave after being arrested on a warrant for "allegations involving a child," the Eagle-Tribune reported. McGrath's letter did not mention Keene by name.
