Former Andover Cop Indicted for Alleged DUI Crash

Evan Robitaille allegedly hit a truck in Tewksbury then fled the scene.

A former Andover police officer was indicted this week after he was charged in a DUI crash last year.

On March 11, 2013, Evan Robitaille, 33, allegedly struck a truck on Route 495 in Tewksbury then fled the scene, according to the Eagle-Tribune. He was off duty at the time, according to the Tribune.

Before the incident, Robitaille was named a "Police Officer by the Year" in 2012.

An indictment means a grand jury has determined a trial is warranted based on evidence in the case.
