Resident Charged with DUI Drugs, Alcohol

The following are excerpts from the log. The log is open to the public.

Friday, Aug. 24

At 10:48 a.m. a lawn sign was stolen from a yard on Brown Street.

At 12:56 p.m. a caller reported that two old bicycles were stolen from his basement on Summer Street.

At 3:23 p.m. a caller reported finding drug paraphernalia in one of the bushes near Fields Pond, off Harold Parker Road.

At 7:03 p.m. police arrested Charles H. Goodwin III, 30, of 1175 Lawrence St., Lowell, on Post Office Avenue. Goodwin was charged with malicious destruction of property over $250, breaking and entering for misdemeanor, resisting arrest and carrying a dangerous weapon.

At 11:20 p.m. police arrested Enno K Tjalama, 47, of 2 Trumpeters Lane, on Park Street. Tjalama was charged with operating under the influence of liquor, operating under the influence of drugs and an open container of liquor in the motor vehicle.

Saturday, Aug. 25

At 2 a.m. loud music was reported in the area of Chestnut Street. The owner agreed to turn his music down.

At 10:10 a.m. a caller reported that he was walking along Main Street when someone threw a punch toward his face and then stopped right before hitting his face. An officer located the individual, who denied having any involvement with the incident.

At 7:07 p.m. a caller reported ATVs in an area off Abbot Street.

At 7:41 p.m. a caller reported that a regular male customer at the Chateau flashed a handgun to a group of kids while leaving the River Road establishment.

At 11:30 p.m. a caller reported a group of 30 to 50 people playing basketball at the Sonesta Hotel courtyard on Tech Drive. An officer reported that the group was spoken to.

Sunday, Aug. 26

At 12:09 p.m. a caller reported that eggs were thrown at his house and motor vehicle on River Road.

At 2:12 p.m. a caller reported a group of people partying at Pomps Pond that are refusing to leave. They claimed that they had the pond reserved for a party. Police responded and an officer reported that everyone left the pond area without incident.

At 2:54 p.m. a caller reported that her purse was stolen on Main Street.

At 10:40 p.m. police arrested Louise Cabral, 55, of 514 Western Ave., Apt. 2R, Lynn, on Haverhill Street. Cabral was charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. He was also arrested on two past warrants for unlicensed operation and a crosswalk violation.
