There were two separate incidents of suspects assaulting police officers this past weekend, according to police reports.

At just before 1 a.m. Saturday morning, police tried to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation, but the driver reportedly wouldn't stop.

Police say Daniel Gillette, 44, of 19 Moraine St., Andover, drove to his house and ran inside the garage. Police followed him inside, and he allegedly became violent and hit an officer in the arm with a phone.

Gillette was charged with assault and battery of a police officer, operating under the influence, resisting arrest and failure to stop for police.

On Sunday, a resident called police reporting that a woman was in his home intoxicated and "out of her mind."

Police went to the home and spoke with the woman in question, who police say refused to leave.

When police told her she was under arrest, she allegedly resisted arrest and kicked the officers. A taser was then used on her.

Cynthia Stackpole, 41, was charged with assault and battery of a police officer, trespass, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
