Two Car Break-Ins Reported This Week

The following information was supplied by the Andover Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following are excerpts from the log. The log is open to the public.

Monday, Aug. 8

At 2:28 p.m. an employee at Camp Lorraine on Jenkins Road reported a motor vehicle that drove right past the gate and did not pay. They were also throwing trash outside their car as they were driving.

At 4:31 p.m. a hit and run was reported on Haggetts Pond Road. The accident did not appear to be a hit and run and all paperwork was exchanged.

At 7:44 p.m. a police officer reported a 1-year-old sitting along on the sidewalk on Oriole Drive. An officer spoke with the mother at the home.

At 8:29 p.m. a caller reported two young kids on the roof of High Plain Elementary School.

Tuesday, Aug. 7

At 7:58 a.m. a caller reported a larceny on Strawberry Hill Road. The resident said that there was a problem with a contractor he hired to install a fence.

At 10:38 a.m. a two-car accident was reported on North Main street. No injuries were reported.

At 10:53 a.m. a caller reported a potentially aggressive pit bull running loose around the neigborhood on Foster's Pond Road. An officer located the dog eventually Woburn Street and he handed it off to the animal control officer.

At 11:22 a.m. a caller reported that his windshield was broken in the Chateau parking lot.

At 2:02 p.m. firefighters fought a dumpster fire on River Road and police officers assisted.

At 4:01 p.m. police arrested Vanny Vulthy, 26, of 36 Lafayette Ave., Lawrence, on River Road. Vulthy was charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and operating an uninspected motor vehicle.

At 5:44 p.m. a caller reported that his vehicle was broken into on Waverly Drive and items were taken from it.
