Two Heroin Busts, Same Day

Police charged two people with possession of heroin Tuesday morning, and then they charged another two people for heroin possession that afternoon.

At just after 9 a.m. Tuesday, Lawrence Police requested help from Andover Police in searching for a vehicle in Shawsheen Plaza. Lawrence detectives had been following the vehicle after a suspected drug deal.

Andover Police Det. Greg Scott stopped the vehicle on Chestnut Street and reportedly found an undisclosed amount of heroin.

Scott Ashton, 35, of 44 Upton St., North Billerica, and Joseph Sperry IV, 25, of 30 Sycamore St. 2nd Floor, Billerica, were both charged with possession of a class A substance.

Sperry had additional warrants, for several charges including disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, possession of a class B substance and larceny.

A few hours later, at about 1 p.m., police stopped another vehicle and reportedly found heroin.

Patrick Reardon, 33, of Meredith, N.H., and Jazmyne Conway, 17, of Gilford, N.H., were charged with possession of a class A substance.
