Bucuzzo Dracut Deal Falls Through

Andover's assistant town manager was supposed to be Dracut's new town manager.

It turns out  Andover Assistant Town Manager Steven Bucuzzo will not head to Dracut as planned.

In late August, Dracut Selectmen voted unanimously Tuesday night to appoint Bucuzzo as that town's new town manager, but Tuesday night they announced there would be no deal, The Lowell Sun reported on its Twitter page.

The reasons for the cancelled deal are not yet known.

Current Dracut Town Manager Dennis Piendak, 65, announced more than a year ago that he will be retiring this fall, and selectmen in that community have been rigorously searching for a replacement.

Bucuzzo, who lives in Haverhill, has served as Andover's assistant town manager since June 2001. Before taking that position, he served as town administrator for Rockport and Budget and management assistant for Wellesley.
