Running for Office Workshop Coming Up

The Town Clerks of Andover and North Andover in conjunction with the Andover/North Andover League of Women Voters will be holding the annual “Running for Office” Seminar in January. This year the event will be hosted by Andover. The Seminar will be held on January 10, 2013 at 7:00 PM at the Memorial Hall Library, 2 North Main Street, Andover. The panelists include; from Andover, Town Clerk Larry Murphy and Selectman Daniel H. Kowalski; from North Andover, Town Clerk Joyce Bradshaw and Selectman Richard Vaillancourt; as well as Jason Tait Director of Communication & Public Education from the Massachusetts Office of Campaign and Political Finance. The event will be moderated by Stefani Traina of the League of Women Voters.

Nomination papers for the Andover March 26, 2013 Annual Town Election are available at the Andover Town Clerk’s Office.

The Ballot for the 2013 Annual Town Election will include the following:

Moderator                                                                                    One for One Year

Selectman                                                                                     Two for Three Years

School Committee                                                                        Two for Three Years

Housing Authority                                                                        One for Five Years

Trustees of the Punchard Free School                                                One for Three Years

The last day and hour to submit nomination papers to the Andover Board of Registrars of Voters is 5:00 PM on February 5, 2013. The Town Clerk’s Office will remain open until 5:00 PM that day to accept nomination papers.
