VIDEO: Meet Your Selectman Candidates

The Annual Town Election is coming up this Tuesday and voters will flock to the polls at Andover High School to elect both a selectman and a school committee member.

If you haven’t had a chance to meet the candidates yet, you might have a tough time deciding who should get your vote. Fortunately, Andover Patch can help you with that.

Three candidates for a two-year term on the Board of Selectmen, Larry Bruce, Paul Salafia and Daniel Kowalski, take a couple minutes each to talk about why they are running and what they think about the burning issues in Andover. The School Committee videos will be posted in a separate feature later on Friday.

• Larry Bruce, a Chandler Street resident, commented that he would be pushing to reduce waste in local government, provide quality education and provide responsible oversight to the Town Yard project.
• South Main Street resident Paul Salafia, also 17-year member of the Planning Board, also expressed concern about the feasibility of the Town Yard project. He added that his experience in town planning will allow him to both guide responsible commercial growth and protect the town from developments and projects that may be detrimental to Andover.
• Daniel Kowalski, an Enfield Road resident, is concerned about how much taxes have risen for the average homeowner and the number of upcoming town projects and their affect on taxpayers. He said he would help guide public spending to make Andover a more economically attractive place to live.

The Annual Town Election is scheduled for Tuesday, March 22. Voters in all precincts will vote at the Andover High School Collins Field House from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Go to the back of the Field House to find the polling location.
