Welcome to the third installment of our Golden Warriors fall sports season preview. Today we look at the Andover High School boys golf team.
Last year’s journey for the Golden Warriors golf team ended in disappointment.
In the Division 1 North Tournament at the Beverly Golf & Tennis Club last October, the Warriors were in serious contention to reach the state tournament.

Andover’s combined total of 320 strokes was good for a sixth place tie with Lowell and Haverhill. Unfortunately, only the top four teams advanced into the state tournament which was held a week later at the Longmeadow Country Club.
Concord-Carlisle was a stroke better than Andover last October; Wayland was two strokes better and earned the final spot in the state tourney.

Janek Krenig was Andover’s top performer on that afternoon. He shot a 77 which was only six strokes off leader Nick Pandelena’s (St. John’s Prep) pace.
This year the squad will get their season underway against Chelmsford High School on Friday, Sept. 9. Tee time will be 3:30pm at the Chelmsford Country Club.
On Thursday, Sept. 15, the Warriors host Tewksbury High School at the . That will be Andover’s first home event.
To close out the regular season, Andover will participate in the Merrimack Valley Conference Individuals Tournament at Vesper Country Club in Tyngsboro. That event will be on Thursday, Oct. 20 at 9am.
